Transformer Oil analysis by Power electronics
Transformers, Regulators, and Switch Gears use insulating oil that serves as the insulation for the high voltage, reduces glitches like arcing, and serves as a medium of heat transfer from the winding of the transformer.
Over time, the transformer's insulating oil deteriorates, and the insulation property can take a toll due to paper fibers that form sludge. Furthermore, some hot spots in the transformer cause combustible key gases to appear in the oil in the form of dissolved gas. In short, the degradation of the transformer's insulating oil shortens the life of the coil and the transformer as a whole.
We offer various tests in this service that can easily identify the condition of the insulating oil. The tests that we carry out comply with ASTM standard:
1 - ASTM D3612A Dissolved Gas Analysis (DGA)
2 - ASTM D1533B Moisture
3 - ASTM D971 Interfacial Tension
4 - ASTM D974 Neutralization Number
5 - ASTM D1500 Color Test
6 - ASTM D1524 Visual Test
7 - ASTM D924 Power Factor
8 - ASTM D877 Dielectric
9 - ASTM D26680 Oxidation Inhibitor
The above-mentioned test helps us to determine the condition of the insulating oil. We offer these services in-field and can guarantee accuracy.
